Easy Hydroponics

Hydroponics is the practice of growing plants in water. It has been shown that hydroponics is the only way to grow indoors if you are going for a high yield. The quickest, cheapest and most effective system to set up at home is the DWC setup which consists of a netted pot filled with pumice or Hydroton placed through the lid of a 5 gallon bucket and a pump connected to an air stone bubbling at the bottom of a 5gallon bucket filled with water. The air stone provides oxygen to the roots which allows them to live submersed in water. Nutrients are added daily and the PH and PPM of the water are kept within a specific range depending on your strains growth requirements (usually between 5.5-6.6 PH and 100-1600 PPM). Every 4 days the bucket is drained, cleaned and refilled with water and nutrients to prevent harmful bacteria from growing and attacking the roots.
